Refraining from "minor" sins

Q: What are regarded as minor sins? Could Mufti Saab please provide some examples.

A: An example of a minor sin is misusing your time in futile activities i.e. they do not bring any good to your deen or dunya. However, our Ulama say that persisting on a small sin will amount to a major sin.

Secondly, they also say that a small sin compared to a major sin is like a small piece of burning ember in comparison to a huge inferno. The destruction that a small ember can cause may be as destructive as an inferno.

Further, they add that the more a person is relaxed in committing a wrong, it makes the crime even more serious in the sight of Allah Ta`ala.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
