Q: What is the ruling regarding online trading - day trader. He trades with various things like gold, currencies and oil.
A: Among the various requisites for a valid sale is qabdhah (possession of the item). Generally, in these types of deals qabdhah is not found. Hence, it will not be valid.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
