Q: Is watching videos and looking at images haraam?
For example, is watching a video on YouTube which includes no music or indecent clothing haraam, because there are videos which don’t include these.
I am confused whether videos are haraam since most of them contain music and indecent clothing or are they are haraam because looking at animate things is haraam.
Will watching a video which contains no music or indecent clothing be allowed?
Is looking at images haraam?
For example, is looking at an image of a bird haraam?
If the image contains no indecency is it allowed?
A: All animate pictures are haraam. Just as drawing them is impermissible, watching them is also impermissible since you are admiring and deriving enjoyment from something haraam.
