Reading the dua Ganjul Arsh

Q: In a newer version of the book contentment of the heart, it has something called Dua e Ganjul Arsh.

Is this a reliable and established amal?

A: One should refrain from reading Ganjul Arsh as this is a fabricated dua that is attributed to Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam).

Similarly, the many virtues and blessings mentioned for the one who recites this dua have no basis in deen and are wrongly attributed to Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

Below is the Fatwa of Hazrat Mufti Mahmood Saheb (rahimahullah) regarding “Ganjul Arsh”.

Hazrat Mufti Mahmood Saheb (rahimahullah) mentioned:

This dua is not established from Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). The virtues which are mentioned for the one who recites this dua have no basis. Instead of reciting this dua, one should recite the Qur’aan Majeed, durood shareef, the first kalimah and istighfaar.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
