Q: What is the method of giving Azaan from a minaret?

A: In the past, people used to give Azaan from high places so that the sound of the Azaan could reach further. Therefore, the Fuqahaa mentioned the masalah of giving Azaan from a minaret.
When giving Azaan from a minaret, one can put one's head out of the window (if the minaret has windows) or the opening in the minaarat and call out the Azaan.
When saying "hayya alas salaah" and "hayya alal falaah"", it is also permissible for one to call out the first "hayya alas salaah" from one side of the minaret and the second "hayya alal salaah" from the other side of the minaret so that one's voice could be heard on both sides. Similar is the case of "hayya alal falaah" (i.e. the first "hayya alal falaah" will be called out from one side of the minaarat and the second " hayya alal falaah" will be called out from the other side of the minaarat.
According to some Fuqahaa, one will say both "hayya alal salaah" from one side of the minaarat and then one will move to the other side and then say both "hayya alal falaah" at the other side.
In today's times, since we have mics and speakers, a person can call out the Azaan from a mic or he can climb onto the minaret and call out the azaan from there. Both ways are permissible.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
