Following a non-mahram on social media

Q: Is it permissible to follow a non mahram on social media?

A: It is not permissible for a girl to have any contact with a non-mahram man and vice versa. This is haraam in Islam and considered as shameless behaviour. Similarly, man and woman speaking freely or messaging freely is a form of zina which has been prohibited in the Hadith. The sin becomes even more serious when people consider it to be permissible or they regard it to be trivial and insignificant.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
