Q: I have a small apartment, can I rent it to a tenant who is a music teacher in school? Is it permissible?
A: If he is a Muslim and he teaches other subjects in school which are permissible, then you can rent your apartment to him. However, if he only teaches music then his income is not permissible. Hence, you should not rent your apartment to him. If he is a non-Muslim, then it is permissible for you to rent your apartment to him.
