Going to an aalim to seek guidance regarding one's life

Q: Is it haraam to go to Moulanas to ask about one's life?

For example, someone said to me that she feels as though her life has been on hold for a long time, almost as if it is deficient in barakah. Will it be Haraam for this person to go to a Moulana to find out what is causing the lack of barakah in her life and how can she remedy this ?

A: To go to an aalim to seek deeni guidance or to ask advice regarding one's worldly or deeni matter is permissible. However, to ask the aalim whether you will be successful in the future in your marriage or business etc. is not permissible. This is haraam and is like going to a fortuneteller and asking him to predict your future. The knowledge of the future is in the knowledge of Allah Ta'ala alone.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
