Fortune Telling

Difference between predictions based on the movement of clouds and predictions based on the movement of planets

Q: What is the difference between making a prediction based on the movement of the clouds versus a prediction based on the movement of planets?

For example, the weather man will analyze the clouds and their movements. He will say that there will be severe flooding in a certain area. People will understand that severe flooding in that area causes mudslides and damage to houses and death. Everyone accepts this upcoming natural disaster warning and it is not regarded as fortune telling or haraam.

On the other hand, the man acquainted with the planets will analyze their movements. He will say that, for example, the planet Venus is coming closer in orbit and the cold nature of Venus will have a cold effect in a certain area. He too will predict flooding or severe weather in a region. He too will conclude mudslides and damage and death. However, people will regard his analysis as fortune telling and haraam.

Whereas outwardly both parties analyzed natural phenomena of natural entities and made conclusions based on their experience and study. There is no invoking of devils or making an offering or doing a ritual with blood and najaasat.

Why is one permissible and the other astrology and haraam? Please can this be explained.

Fortune telling

Q: Can the change in the position of the planets really affects one's fate? I have seen many of my non-Muslim friends prediction being accurate? How can a fortune teller be right?

Checking zodiac signs

Q: My question is related to astrology. I wanted to know if being aware or checking the compatiblilty of me and my partner is haraam or not? I know that believing in palmistry and fortune telling is a sin but my question is just that. Checking the traits of a certain zodiac man or checking someone's compatibility with you is haram or not? Is it kufr?

Palmistry

Q: I have some questions that have been effecting my life for a long time.

1. Unfortunately I made a mistake of watching palmistry videos on youtube and saw some bad signs on my hand. I know its haram but I've made this mistake. I know no one in the heavens or on earth knows what is the unseen but according to the Hadeeth, the jinn travel to the lowest heaven and tell some of the information to the fortune tellers. I'm afraid that the fortune teller might have made some connections with jinn and what she told was true?

2. I saw my sister's hand and I'm afraid that I might have also made some connection with a jinn and what I saw would become true.

3. If Allah Ta'ala has made these lines on our hands then they might have a purpose and meaning... does that mean that these lines do have a meaning but no one has the knowledge about them?

4. Please kindly give a satisfactory answer if i might have somehow through possession or accident made a connection? Is this possible? I have heard that we can make connections through sacrilegious acts? What are those acts?

5. I read somewhere that there are still some people who resemble to the fortune tellers from the time of ignorance. Is it possible that the palmist I saw on youtube had some knowledge and resembled one of them?

6. I also read somewhere that the predictions sometimes come true that is because the palmist gets information from the jinn. Is that still possible beacuse only Hazrat Suleman (alaihis salaam) had such powers to control jinn

7. I've asked many people and they said that one cannot be sure if some connection with a jinn is made. Is it true?
