Q:

1) Is it permissible for a person to change his annual zakaat date to a more suitable date?

2) Do you agree with an adjustment to the zakaat rate if a person chooses to calculate his zakaat using the solar calendar?

Q: I obtained items for free with the intention of resale. Despite the fact that I get them for free, must Zakaat still be paid on their current market value?

1. Many a times Muslims beg for money inside and outside the mosque. Should or should I not give them? 

2. I donate money to charitable organizations, but I doubt whether the money reaches the poor.

Q: Is it more rewarding to buy gifts for one's family or to spend that money in sadaqah? (for the person who can't afford to do both)?

Q: I am a student at university. In possesion I have money that was given to me to cover university expenses. I have around R5000. By the end of the year it will be used up. I would like to know if zakaat is payable on it and wether qurbani is required. I also have a student bank account that doesn't accumulate interest until a year has lapsed. Due to the account being empty after a year, There will be no interest gained or taken, is it permissible. My bursary pays fees late every year and univerity charges me R30 interest. Should I give that R30 as charity, as it is out of my control?

Q: I realised that I had 100 riyals in my possession for the past 2 years which I did not include in my zakaat calculation. How much zakaat must I pay for it?

Q: I have a shop, and pay 1200 as rent. I have given some money as security to the landlord. Should I add this security money while calculating nisaab for zakaat? Please reply?
