Hadith

Not getting married

Q: An ignoramus told me that a hadith says that if you never get married, your funeral or janaza will be invalid. Does a hadith exist in any collection that mentions this or something similar to this? If so, please give the reference and explanation of it?

Hadith Question

Q: I have heard lot of people saying especially in India that once Hazrat Bilal (May Allah be pleased with him), due to some sahabas complaining about his voice or his pronunciation in Adhan asked the permission for someone else to call the Adhan (Fajr). After he called people got worried as lot of time had passed but the sun didnt rise like normal. So they went to the Prophet (Peace be upon him), told him the same and he replied that Allah has ordered the sun not to rise until Bilal gives the Call to Adhan. Please let me know if there is any authentic Source where this incident of sun not rising because of Bilal (May Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned. Praise be to Allah.

Hadith Question

Q: Please answer and give me the references with the normal page number:

  1. There is a hadith something to this effect: "I am the first to which the Earth will burst open (on the Day of Judgment), then Abu Bakr, then Umar. I will then come to those who are buried in al Baqi and they gather with me. After that I'll wait for the people of Mecca to be gathered by the inhabitants of the two sacred cities. "(Tirmidhi)
  2. The Messenger of Allah () said: « One who dies free from three things, i.e. arrogance, cheating and debt will enter paradise ». (Tirmidhi)
  3. There was a young man in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (saw) which had some hair on his chin. Whenever the Messenger of Allah (saw) saw him, he laughed. The young man who did not understand why he was laughing, assumed it was in connection with some hair on his chin, he shaved those hairs. When the Messenger of Allah (saw) crossed and saw, he did not look any more. One day, the young man who was sad that the Messenger of Allah (saw) do not look any more, he went to find him and asked him: ' O Messenger, before I had some hair on my chin and when you saw me you laughed, now that I've shaved, you do not look at me anymore, why? The Messenger of Allah () replied: ' before I laughed because I saw angels fighting to swing at the end of your hair, now that you have shaved them, they left]. Something to this effect.

Gaining shifa from sihr through the manzil

Q: Is the following Hadith regarding the Manzil correct?

Hadhrat Ubay bin Ka'b (رضي الله عنه ) reports that he was once with Rasulullaah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) when a Bedouin came and said, "O Nabi of Allaah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ)! I have a brother who is suffering." "What is it that ails him?" Rasulullaah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) asked. When the man explained that his brother was affected by the Jinn, Rasulullaah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) told him to bring his brother to him. (When the man came) Rasulullaah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) seated the man in front of him and recited the following to secure protection for him (against the Jinn):

Manzil Comprises of the following verses:

Surah Al-Fatihah (chapter 1): verses 1 to 7

Surah Al-Bakarah (chapter 2): verses 1 to 5, 163, 255 to 257, and 284 to 286

Surah Al-Imran (chapter 3): verses 18, 26 and 27

Surah Al-A'araf (chapter 7): verses 54 to 56

Surah Al-Israa (chapter 17): verses 110 and 111

Surah Al-Muminoon (chapter 23): verses 115 to 118

Surah Al-Saaffaat (chapter 37): verses 1 to 11

Surah Al-Rahman (chapter 55): verses 33 to 40

Surah Al-Hashr (chapter 59): verses 21 to 24

Surah Al-Jinn (chapter 72): verses 1 to 4

Surah Al-Kaafiroon (chapter 109): verses 1 to 6

Surah Al-Ikhlas (chapter 112): verses 1 to 4

Surah Al-Falaq (chapter 113): verses 1 to 5

Surah Al-Naas (chapter 114): verses 1 to 6

(After Rasulullaah(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) recited these before him) The man then stood up as if he had never had any ailment whatsoever.(Ahmad, Haakim and Tirmidhi,as quoted in Kanzul Ummaal (Vol.1 Pg.212).)
