Donating bodies, organs and blood

Q:

1. Is it permissible to donate organs? For example, if a family member or a friend is in need of a kidney, are you allowed to donate your kidney?

2. Is it permissible to donate a body for medical research?

3. What is the Islamic ruling for donating blood?

4. If a family member is on a ventilation machine and there is no hope of recovery, is it permissible to disconnect it?

Hair transplant

Q: I am a 25 year old male that is experiencing hair loss. I have tried shampoos, creams, tablets as well as hair lazer therapy in order to stimulate hair growth. However none so far has given the desired effect. The other option I am aware of is hair transplant. With the hair transplant there are 2 routes that I can choose. The first option, they take my own hair and transplant it to the areas with less hair, however at my age I have been advised not to go with it. The second option is a Fibre synthetic material which is not human hair which can be transplanted via a non surgical method. My question is, would it be permissable to go with the second option: Fibre synthetic material?

Organ donation

Q: I want to know if organ donation is permissible in Islam. Is there any type of situation in which it will be premissible? The example given to me: someones brother is very ill-his kidneys have failed & doctors say he needs at least one kidney donated to him. Can this person donate one kidney to his brother?
