Q: What is the ruling on eating Christmas food? If its haraam to take, then when we have been given, can I dispose of it or will Allah punnish me for been Al-mubazzir?

1. My question is regarding Halaal/Haraam status of ingredients. While I am doing some research on food products I found ingredient animal protein (like hydrolyzed animal protein, animal protein derivative,...etc). I wanted to know whether this ingredient is halaal or haraam?

Q: Regarding the creatures of the ocean, kingklip is a species of cusk eel which lack scales. What is the shariah view on the permissibility of such? Furthermore, if not halaal, what about contamination and eating at an outlet that cooks/serves kingklip?

Q: With regards to sitting whilst eating or drinking, does this only apply to full meals, or even when one is drinking a few sips of water or fruit etc. I was in the habit of always sitting even if drinking a little bit of water, but someone told me that I don't need to sit because it's not a meal. Q: Eating with the left hand is haram. But my grandfathers right hand was injured and now since 45 years he was eating with left hand because he is unable to eat with right hand. Is this correct?

Q: Some youth in my community that I have caught smoking weed argue with me that they have done research, and found that weed has similar effects to coffee, it gives an energetic feeling with euphoria, similar to the effects coffee and energy drinks have to lots of people and thus the ruling of the Quran and hadith on it being an intoxicant like alcohol does not apply. How do I convince them otherwise?

Q: I bought a pack of mince pies today, which unfortunately contain brandy; however not sure what percentage it contains. To the best of my knowledge, the rest of the ingredients are halaal. I bought the same pack once before, and noticed the ingredients mentioned brandy, but decided to throw them away as to be on the safe side. Now, not sure that was the appropriate action to have taken. I bought the same packet, this time round forgetting about the brandy issue associated with it! My question is; what should I do with this packet of 6 mince pies? Should I throw them away? Give them away? Eat them? How do I go about this problem brother? Thanking you for your time and efforts.

Q: Does smoking marijuana also cause all ibaadat to not be accepted for 40 days like alcohol? Does the same apply to recreational drugs like ecstasy and lsd?
