Q: Is it permissible for women to wear high heels shoes or any other type of footwear which makes a sound when walking in front of non mahram men?

1. Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to wear a saree in a Muslim country provided that she covers all the parts of her body properly.

2. If her husband wants her to wear a saree and he gets upset if she doesn't do so, will it be permisssible for her to wear it?

3. What is the shar'ee ruling regarding wearing a saree which completely covers each part of the body?

Q: In South Africa, should one avoid wearing black clothing during Muharram as the Shias wear black clothing?

A: Yes, if wearing black clothing has some resemblance with the Shias then this should be avoided.

My question is, I wear niqaab, majority of my clothing is black, because I simply love wearing black. Whenever I go out of my house, I have gloves that are black, a jilbaab that is black as well as a niqaab that is black. Even in my house I wear black most of the time. Can I wear black clothing without the intention of following the shi'ahs?

Q: Can Muslim women wear short tops, t-shirts and loose pants at home? Can women wear khimar over t-shirts or tops during salaah?

Q: I wanted to know how is it for girls or ladies to wear denim skirts or any other dress, etc. made of denim fabric if it's full length and loose fitting.

Q: My father complained about this for so long that I would rather ask a person who knows these things. He always says that everything is haraam and wrong in our religion.

I wear hijab and long skirt everyday. My dad has complained to me for a long time about a couple of my friends using pants (their parents know that they wear them of course). It is such a big thing to my father and he always says I'm next. He complains about using even short socks and sometimes he is also violent about it.

I am now in a situation that every morning, evening, night he is waiting for me to start using pants. I’ve never thought in my life that I’d stop wearing hijab or skirt, because my friends don’t wear it but now he is basically 'helping' me to refuse to wear it. I know this is wrong what he is doing.

He also complaints about how tight my skirt is or my shirt is too tight to see my shape. I always feel uncomfortable in those situations because I feel that my father shouldn't look at his child in that way. My mom never talks to me like that. I feel like mothers should talk to their daughters about those things, not dads.

Can you please help me to understand if this whole situation is okay? What should I do? I can’t talk to him about this because he is abusive and he wants to be right every time. I know that I should not talk about my father like this but this is getting out of hand.

Q: I am a woman and I bought black ankle socks in the men's section (the women's section in that shop did not have my size). Am I allowed to wear those socks? Or do I have to buy it from the women's section.
