Q: I personally read manzil and other relevant aayats of Quran and blow it on isbanb (or some call it aspand/efsand/peganum hermala/syrian rue/African rue, etc.) and then it is roasted on fire and smoke comes out of it. It is a common practice done at my place in Kashmir for the treatment of jinn, sihr, etc. Is it permissible?
Q: There is a facebook page where there are raqi's who suggests people ruqyah. In my case they suggested ruqyah for evil eye. The process is to listen to two audios, aayatul harq and evil eye ruqyah. And take ruqyah ghusl (keeping my hands in the water and recite surahs and take bath with that water) I did it before but didn't do it perfectly so the raqi suggested me to do it again for 2 weeks. Whenever I do this I become depressed, my concentration goes, my hair starts falling so much etc. Many people experience this in the early stage of ruqyah and after completing it, the symptoms are gone.
My question is, is this a sunnah method. Should I do it?
Q: I have a relative who has been told that she may be affected by Jinn. Recently she's been feeling unwell and having nightmares repeatedly having a dream seeing the same person. She has been married for 5 years without any children. She has also noticed her skin has become acne prone and scarred. Although all this could be just a bad phase in her life, she has been told by someone that it's the the effects of a jinn.
The person has asked her to bring a piece of clothing she has worn for a few days so he can blow ayats from the Quran on to it to see the effect that has on the clothing. She is a practicing Muslim and does not want to do anything that compromises her religion or anything that involves shirk and displeasing Allah Ta'ala. Please shed some light on this practice.
Q: Is it permissible for a female to drink water which has been dum'd by a Barelwi aalim?
Q: Is it permissible for us to take a bath of Quranic verses written on inkjet paper and dipped in water and make sure that the water is not going in the drain. We take a bath in a small tub and collect that water and throw it in the garden. This is to cure black magic. Its all ruqyah ayats.
Q: How often should one do ruqyah if one is suffering from ocd (more accurately waswas al-qahri)? If one is in the process of ruqyah and accidently utters an english word, is the ruqya nullified? How about an arabic word? Also, is it permissible to do one ruqya session for multiple illnesses (for same person)? Will this take away from the effectiveness?
Q: Please clarify the issue on blowing into water after reading the Asmaa-ul-Husna or the manzil for cure and relief from a distressing condition.
Q: Can we recite manzil as a means of ruqyah? If yes, what is the method and for how many days are we supposed to recite it and what are we supposed to do after recitation? Can reading it also have a negative effect?
Q: I wanted to know if reciting ayah or full surah (like surah Yaseen or small surah ) of the Quran and blowing on water to give to drink to children is permissible or bidah?
