Q: While reading through your fatwas I came across one topic that has drawn my attentions. The fatwa was about "Moving into a new home". At the end part of the article there was a statement which read as follows:-"Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ood (Radhiyallahu Anhu) has reported that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: "A deserted house is one in which the Holy Qur'an is not recited."" I just wanted to know that, whether reading Namaz can be considered as recitation of Quran, as we read verses of the Holy Qur'an while performing salat itself?
Q: Please can you advise me when buy a new house what duas/prayers should be made. That is when you take the keys do you need to do anything and when you actually take occupation what should be done.
Q: Could I buy a luxury house, expensive cars and going for foreign tours? Is it permissible for a mu'min?
Q: May I please know whether buying flower vases and other items of decorations to decorate one's house amounts to israaf (extravagance)?
Q: Is it permissible to hang frames/carpets with the names of Allah, ayatul kursi etc in one's home?
Q: When building a house, what is the ruling on positioning of toilets and the beds. I am aware that both should not be in qibla direction.
1. Is this from the back and front?
2. Do you need to be slightly off qibla direction or completely in the opposite.
Q:
1. I am soon going to move into my new home. I want to invite my friends and our local Musjid musallees to come to my new home to recite Qur'an and thereafter I will feed them. Is it permissible for me to do so?
2. When one moves into one's new home, what A'maal should one carry out in order to bring blessings in the home?
Q: Is it necessary to burn lobaan before moving into a new house and what is the significance in Islam of burning lobaan?
Q: When we move to a new house or flat, among the first things we do is usually to recite Surah al-Baqarah. Is this practise from the sunnah? Should Surah Baqarah be recited also when we move into a hotel room for a week's holiday?
