Q: It is this time of the year when a few bicycle races take place. E.g. Argus, Tour Durban, etc. Many Muslim people with big beards etc. take part in these. It is done with thousands of people all scantily dressed. Some so called pious Muslims claim it is exercise and that they lower their gaze. Allah Ta’ala knows best how they avoid accidents like that.

1. Is it permissible to take part in a cycle race?

2. On a weekly basis to cycle as a group, early in the morning, along a similar route, would that be permissible?

Q: What causes forgetfulness after learning knowledge, when either reading a book, or listening to a lecture?

Q: My job requires me to work in public environments most of the time. I find small amounts of money on the ground occasionally. What should I do with the money found?

Q: Everytime I offer salah and in standing and bowing position I feel wind coming out and I repeat my wudu. At other times I'm not sure whether wind came out. I'm getting really nervous and depressed. Is this waswasa from shaytan, please clarify.

Q: My family had got a proposal for me and I was interested but with no solid reason my father refused. He said things like, the boy's family were living far away, and also he is 10 years older then me. I did istikhara many times and I got no negative signs. I do pray daily to turn my heart away from this but it is uncontrollable now. I want advice whether I should ask my family to consider it. I'm afraid that once it mustn't get refused for a reason that is not valid.

Q: My question is that what does the term jawani (youth) mean. Can it be lost or found in akhirat? Every person remains accountable for it so when is this and till when does it last?

Q: The Fuqaha have mentioned that at the time of tilawaat, azaan and eating, if salaam is made to a person then the salaam does not have to be returned. What is the hukam if a person returns the salaam at these times? Is there karaaha in a person doing so or will it be permissible to reply although the salaam does not have to be returned?
