Q: A woman remarried when her children were still little. They regard her current husband as their own father. 1. I have advised my family that on my passing they should not hold any gathering of 3, 10 or 40 days but instead make dua for me to get the sawaab. Please advise if this was right or wrong.
2. I also do not attend any zikr or khatam programmes organised by my family and gave them the reason that I have noticed that during these events, the programme continues into salaah times thus many miss their salaah. Please commment.
3. I am asked again and again as to why I do not stand for salami and why I do not read salami. Can Mufti give me an answer that will satisfy them. I advised them that as far as I know the Angels deliver the salaam and durood to Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and also that I do not believe that my Nabi is present in these gatherings.
Q: I wish to enquire regarding a new type of insurance called Takaaful. Is this new type of insurance permissible in Islam? Does Islam allow one to insure his house or car etc.?
I was always under the impression that all types of insurance are haraam. However, I have been told that Takaaful insurance is quite different to conventional insurance as it is a waqf that one is investing in and by taking out this type of insurance, one will perpetually be gaining reward.

Q: I want to take an interest loan from a bank through a friend since the bank would only be willing to lend it to my friend and not myself because of my poor credit history. Is it allowed? What is the punishment and is the sin on both of us or only me? Am I also involving my friend in a sin?
