Getting involved in the sin of photography

Q: Given that taking a photo of a person is prohibited, and so is looking at the opposite gender, which of the two options below would be a lighter sin:

1. A mahram taking the photo and thus avoiding the sin of going to a non-mahram to take a photo, but the mahram is now doing a prohibited thing (i.e. taking the photo).

2. Going to a professional photo studio where the photo will be taken by a non-mahram. In this situation the mahram avoids the sin of taking the picture, but this causes an interaction between non-mahram individuals.

Which of the two is the better option?

Taking part in a 'haldi ceremony'

Q: I have a question regarding the haldi ceremony. I have learnt that this haldi ceremony is a religious ceremony of Hindus. However, many Muslims in our country celebrate this haldi ceremony before a wedding. As far as I know, this is a grave sin and this is imitating the kuffar, but does it take one out of the fold of Islam?

Paying for missed salaahs of a sick person

Q: My father is ill and unable to perform his salaah. I understand that I cannot perform the salaah for him. Is there any other way for me to cover up his salaah for him, and if so, how much will it cost to pay for his salaah? We estimate around 50 years without salaah. He has a house which just got paid off to the value of approx R800 000 and a car to the value of approx R40 000.
