Conditions & Fundamentals of Hajj and Umrah

Q: Is it permissible to carry one’s shoes or sandals in a shoulder bag whilst making Tawaaf?  From what material should the shoulder bag be made of?

Q: My wife wants to perform Hajj with me leaving my son behind by some friends. She is still feeding the child. I am worried and do not want to leave the child behind as he is very sensitive and afraid of foriegn people. He wakes up at night and wants his mother all the time. I am trying to convience my wife to leave the hajj this year. Am I commiting a sin ? Am I obliged to take her with me for hajj?

Q: I would like to find out that during the 5 days of Hajj, is it compulsory for women to cover the face since no clothing or cloth may touch the face. I have heard from several people that it is compulsory to cover the face even if the cloth touches the face and it would be compulsory to pay a separate amount of dumm specifically for this. Is this view correct and if so, what amount should one pay?

Q:

1. A daughter In-law intends to travel to the Haramain Sharifain with her father in law (but with out the husband). Is this permissible?

2. Is it permissible for the mother In-law to travel to the Haramain Sharifain with the son in law?

Q: What should a person do in the case where his wudhu broke during the tawaaf?

Q: What is the shar’ee ruling if a person had performed Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat or Tawaaf of Umrah without wudhu?

Q: Is it permissible for a mutamatti (one who performed umrah in the months of hajj and intends making hajj in the days of hajj) to perform another umrah/many umrahs before the days of hajj?

Q: Will the pelting be valid if one had pelted on behalf of an unconscious person (without being appointed by him)?

Q: Will the pelting be valid if a sick person (who is unable to pelt) appointed someone to pelt on his behalf?

Q: What is the ruling regarding a haaji who pelts the jamaraat before the prescribed time?
