Q: What are the responsibilities of a daughter, who is an only child, towards her mother, who is a single parent?
Do any of these responsibilities change upon the daughter getting married?
What are the rights that her mother has over her?
A: Whether she is the only child or not, she must see to the comfort and well being of the mother with respect and love.
After she is married, her primary duties are to her husband. Where she can take care of her mother with the husband's consent she must do so.
The mother should advise her and guide her.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
