Looking at the face and hands of a non mahram without lust

Q: Is it permissible to look at the face and hands of a non mahram if done without lust?

A: The way of the pious was that you don't look at something that you are doubtful of. There may be a feeling of lust and there may not be a feeling of lust. So the safest is to leave it out. No person experiments with something that may contain poison even if it is not confirmed, but there is just a possibility.
