Q: I would appreciate your advice on how to take care of my parents.
A: Serving one's parents is not an option, it is a duty. The child who is granted the ability to serve his parents should count it as a great favour of Allah Ta`ala to render some service to them.
The primary objective of taking care of them is to make them comfortable and relaxed. Look for those things that will bring them joy and happiness, provided it is permissible, and then serve them with total sincerity.
Further, the Quraan Shareef teaches us to treat them with kindness and compassion especially when they reach an age where they are unable to correctly understand things in perspective. May Allah Ta`ala bless you with barkat and His special help.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
