Q: I am required to pay the religious liabilities and obligations of my deceased father . I am unsure about the various categories of the obligations for e.g. unperformed Salaah, zakat , unkept fast. I wish to settle the amount up to a maximum of 1/3 of the estate but I am unsure how to categorize the payment . How is the obligation defined/ categorised?

1. Can one can use his Zakaat money to construction a Madrasah.
2. Also, can the Zakaat money be used for some general use of the Madrasah children, e.g. purchasing quilt, kids cloths, bed sheets, etc...
Q: A man who owns a house and two cars, after a full lunar year he has taken out zakaat and put it aside to give out. However he falls ill and needs an immediate treatment. He goes to a private hospital but only has a certain amount of cash in the bank to pay the bill. He has no other immediate source of cash. Can he use that money which he set aside for zakaat or does he have to sell his house or car and use that money?
Q: My father's sister who is above 60 years is a diabetic patient and has no kids to support her. Her husband died last year as well so she is alone by her own because her brothers and sisters have already died. We support her financially from Zakat money because she had no source of income at all. After her husband died, she got some money which her husband had saved in the bank and that money is equivalent to US$7,000.00. Can we still continue supporting her from Zakaat money as she still does no have any source of income? Please advise.

Q: I am a student dependant to my parents. According to the nisab of silver ($400) I am supposed to pay zakaat. And I didn't know this as I was told that nisab is $3000 (as per gold nisab).
