Insurance and Medical aid

Compulsory insurance

Q: We have recently found out that medical aid and insurance are not permissible and cancelled ours. We have recently opened a tyre fitment centre. The department of labour have requested us to enter our staff on the system, we did plan on doing so however found out now that they have to have an insurance as their job here entails a risk so if we put them on the system they will be insured and if we don't we could be in trouble with the department of labour.

Mandatory insurance

Q: I have to get mandatory insurance for medicine from my work place. Due to this I have the minimum amount. I have used it once it saved me 100$ on medicine. Allhumdulilah I have not needed it again. My mom is a Diabetic, she pays a lot of money close to 150$ For her pills. I will save her close to 80% if I put her on my mandatory health insurance at work. I wanted to know if it's allowed. I probably will have to pay a bit more every month by 1 to 2 dollars not worried about that. Just wanted to know if it's permissible?

Health benefits from the side of the employer

Q: Is it permissible for Muslims to use the health benefits offered by the employer via an insurance company?  The employees fill the forms of the insurance company and send them to the health department. Nothing extra (regarding health insurance) is deducted from my salary. My salary, as per contract, is fully provided to me. Is it permissible for me to use these health insurance benefits?

Medical aid

Q: If a person has a disease such as HIV/AIDS and cannot afford the medication (1000$/month). Is it permissible to get insurance or use insurance benefits from work that one pays for in part?

Government provided medical aid

Q: I understand that we are not supposed to have medical aid however in the United States, the people who have low income, the government provides for them medical benefits, that is if a united state citizen who has no job or has a low income if he applies for medical aid then the Government will take it upon themselves to see to his physical and medicinal needs. So will it be permissible for a Muslim to apply for this type of medical aid?

Life Insurance

Q: My question is regarding life insurance for about $300,000 in my name, after I die this money will go to my wife and child and they can buy a house and live a comfortable life. Please advise me on this?

Medical insurance

Q: I had a question about a friend who sells his medication called Hydrocodone pain killer. He gets it for free under his insurance and sells it to relatives and friends to be used for pain killer? What's the ruling on that?
