Taqleed

Who is a salafi and wahhaabi?

Q: Can Mufti saheb please explain regarding what a salafi and wahhabi is... How it began... What are the reasons why should we follow a mazhab... How to protect ourselves from falling into it's trap... How should we treat people who follow it...

Can mufti saheb also tell me of any authentic kitaab to read to educate myself regarding salafism and wahhabism

Making taqleed of one darul iftaa

Q: Kindly advise me on the following:

have been taught that to make Taqleed is Waajib in terms of Fiqh related matters, that is why we make Taqleed of the 4 Imaams.

Due to multitude of Fitan that are present in the Ummah today, is it Waajib to make Taqleed of a fatwa department or 1 of any of the organisations Or what should be done?

Wife following her mazhab after getting married to a Salafi

Q: We follow the Hanafi school of thought. However, my daughter married and her husband is now saying that he is a Salafi. We have never heard about this before. They join salaahs when they travel, make tayamum if there is no water whilst they on the go. Also, they read salaah while in a moving vehicle and if they feel its dangerous to stop the car. She is young and scared. Can you please help me with advice.

Changing one's mazhab

Q:

1. Is it permissible to change and switch between mazhabs more then once? For example, for one to say he's a Hanafi but then decides to become a Shaafi and then become a Hanafi again.

2. Is it permissible for one to adopt a different mazhab because of need. For example, for a Shaafi to become a Hanafi while they are performing tawaaf so if any female has to touch them by mistake their wudhu won't break?

Aqeedah of Salafis

Q: Some Ulama from the Deobandi school of thought have included the Salafis as a part of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa'ah and some haven't. They have done this primarily on the basis of Aqeedah. Someone also told me that Moulana Husayn Ahmed Madani had some 'Salafi' beliefs specifically regarding Aqeedah. After some searching I found it to be true.  If that is the case, and their Aqeedah is also correct, why should we then regard them as deviated? Isn't it just another valid ikhtilaaf from many.

My second question is that, is there Ijmaa' on the compulsion of following a Mazhab, or is it only for the betterment of this pure Deen of ours?
