Q: Is wearing of chains of any metal permitted for men in Islam?

Q: If we wear a ring of stone like garnet or topaz in which some Arabic words are made, is it ok? Can I go to the wash room with the ring especially when some Arabic words /numbers are written in it or only wearing a ring without Arabic writing is permissible?

Q: Is it permissible for women to put mascara on the eyelashes, which makes them thicker and makes them look longer?

Q: My question is if I could use alcohol based creams etc. for my face. I have bad pimples, achne, etc. Also can we use alcohol based perfumes and will these things break wudhu etc?

Q: Is it permissible for a male to wear a silver ring that weighs more than one mithqaal?

Q: We teaching revert ladies. Coming to the type of rings permissible to wear, we explained metal jewellery are not permissible because the idol worshippers used to use it. Now some questions arose. Please give us some clear and simple answer to their understanding Insha Allah.

1) Why is it not permissible to wear imitation rings (i.e the event behind it if there is) and do the idol worshippers used to have a certain tradition behind it or is it just that they used to use it?

2) Why is it then permissible to wear imitation jewellery (besides rings)?

3) Some jewellery are made of animal skin especially (south african) traditional jewellery. Is it allowed to wear such? Even in namaaz?

Q: Applying mehndi on the hands and feet is sunnah for women?

Q: My sister is getting married soon. My ummi insists that she applies mendhi on her nails for the engagement/nikaah. She just wants patterns on her hands and feet. What’s the relevance of mendhi at nikaah time and where and how should it be applied?
