Q: I have tried calculating my zakaat but unfortunately I get quite confused when gold is added. Will really appreciate some guidance on this.

1. I recently married and received pieces of jewellery which is less than 85 grams in total. Am I liable to pay zakaat on this?

2. I currently have 2 (1 oz) Kruger coins as well as 2 Mandela coins. When I researched the grams its 28.35 grams = 1 Ounce. The mandela coins have 5.1 grams of Gold and 2.68 grams of silver. Am I liable to pay zakaat on this?

I also have cash but shukr at least this I know how to calculate.

1) Is it permissible for a person to change his annual zakaat date to a more suitable date?

2) Do you agree with an adjustment to the zakaat rate if a person chooses to calculate his zakaat using the solar calendar?

Q: Is it permissible to donate a property to a charitable organisation or madrasah for the purpose of esaal-e-thawaab?

Q: What should be the last words we say before death? Should it be:

1. La ilaha illallah - or

2. La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah?

Q: I was leading jamat at Maghrib. In the second standing, I forgot to recite aloud.  By the time someone said SubhanAllah, I was halfway in Fatiha. Upon realising the mistake, I recited Fatiha aloud from the start (repeating first half quiet and then loud). My question is, what portion of Fatiha can be repeated without sajdah-e sahwa becoming wajib?

Q: Further to your advice that arms should be fully stretched during ruku' in Salat, please advise me further. I am a tall person with long arms, therefore in ruku' my back does not become horizontal without slightly bending my elbows. Am I excused from levelling by back, or it is not a requirement at all?

Q: I am from India. This academic year my graduation will be completed. I was planning for higher education. My parents want me to join in the family business. I am so helpless because higher education is my passion; without my passion I can't live comfortably. I actually mean I won't be alive.
