Cosmetic surgery

Q: I wanted to ask if in Islam its permissible for me to have a nose job. My nose has a large point bump at the top and is also bent to the left. I have always been teased when growing up to the point thath I now suffer from anxiety and I am seeing a psychologist. I am also scared as I am showing signs of mild depression. My nose does not look 'normal' as people have asked 'how I have broken it'. I saw a surgeon who said that 'my nose is not normal looking and needs to be brought back to normal and doesn't look feminine, he thought that the operation isn't necessary but I will benefit from it'. I only wanted surgery to remove this defect and have a normal nose. Not one that is stared at or the centre of attention when I speak to someone. It has come to a point where I have been out of education for 2-3 years due to my nose and how it looks. I feel people will contnue to make jokes and it causes me stress and sadness. My life has been paused for 2-3 years and I am only 22. I dont like going out as much and have almost lost my social life. Based on these circumstances what is the Islamic advice on a nose job?

Girls father preventing marriage due to boy being from a different caste

Q: My question is regarding intercaste marriage. Me and the girl I like convinced our parents for intercaste marriage and everything was going well. Everyone agreed but a day before our Nikkah her father refused to do so because of her uncle. They convinced his father that its wrong and put trouble for all of us. Now everyone is willing to do this marriage but her father does not agree. Our Nikkah was not done and we faced challenges. We just want to ask if there is anything that we can do to convince her father to agree to this marriage?

Doing a school project on Diwali and Hindu gods

Q: I really need to know something so badly! In my art project at school last year in year 13, it was about festivals so I looked into Diwali and wrote about what they believe in and I also did an observational drawing of one of their deity who sits on a lotus flower. I didn’t have any intention of worship at all and I did rip it out of my book but I did leave an image of one of the deity in my sketchbook and recently saw it and ripped it out. At the time I didn’t know what shirk was really and I didn’t think what I done was bad because to me it was all part of my coursework for school and the beliefs I wrote about never was something I believed. I did write about the stories and the hindu gods and wrote down what the Hindus referred to them as but I know they’re not lord or god but I had to write down that because that is what Hindus believe and so that’s what I was meant to write but it all looks so bad that I think about it. Did I do shirk?

Equality between wives

Q: My husband has two wives. I have read that a man with two wives is supposed to give them both equal amount of time. What does this equality mean because I think in todays lifestyle one man cant give time equally and its impossible.

An example is that last night my husband came home late, around 1am. So he gave me time from that time till around 10 am the next morning. Now with the other wife, he went to bed early around 9.30 pm and from my knowledge, he was awake till 12 am and Allah knows best how long.

I dont know but my question is the other night I got less time and the other wife got more time. What's the Islamic ruling on this. Is it permissible?
