Talaaq

Suspended Talaaq

Q: A person in a great anger says to his wife that if you will do a particular work then three talaqs shall be applicable. After a long time his wife forget what her husband said and she unwillingly did that work (Halaal work). Kindly clarify the status of the couple. They are still living their marriage life as 2 things they feel are in their favor

1- The husband was in great anger.

2- The wife did that by mistake as she had forgot the incident.

Can a woman divorce her husband?

Q: Is a woman allowed to talaaq her husband? My husband doesn't care that our marriage has broken down. We haven't spoken for over 6 weeks and are now in separate rooms. Previously we have done counseling. I requested a separation. Now I have had enough. I'd rather live alone with my children then in a dead marriage.

Revoking the talaaq

Q: My question is that if a man gives his wife her first talaaq and revokes his talaaq to his wife after two days, does the wife need to give consent that she is willing to accept him back? What happens if she does not want him back, does she continue sitting in iddat?

Revocable divorce

Q: My husband has written out a talaaq-e-rajee stating his granting it and our id numbers, date and time. Is it valid and do I start my iddah now? Do I take the letter to the Imam who married us to confirm?

Conditional talaaq

Q: Me and my wife have been arguing two months ago to reconcile. She made me take an oath of a conditional divorce. The conversation is as follows where my wife said: If she ever gets hurt by my action and she tells me she will get hurt regardless of the reason then it's talaaq x3 and if I ever know I will be hurting her and still carry on the act then its talaaq x 3. All I did was when she finished I just repeated the words talaaq x 3 only. A few days ago she told me not to do a certain act. All she said was don't do it. She didn't warn me she will be upset neither did I know she will get upset. I had done the act and she said the condition is fulfilled now its finished. Is this true? We have reconciled now and we strongly believe the conditions weren't meant as we were the ones deciding these. Will it be possible to get a Fatwaa to revoke this condition? Allah is the most merciful, He is the most forgiving so many hadeeths say Allah forgives all sins. Please could you help?

Is a revoked talaaq counted from amongst the three talaaqs?

Q: My husband divorced me a second time and as I asked him that this is your last attempt, If you divorce me a third time, it will be done. But he says that when I  divorced you first time and made rajoo to you within the idaah period, it is finished. My question is that how many attempts can a husband make for divorce to his wife even if he reconciles and if he reconciles within the iddah period, does his attempt of divorce finish and not count next time?
