Talaaq

Suspending talaaq upon speaking a lie

Q: I signed a single talaaq paper but did not inform my wife. Before signing, a few days before, I told my wife not to tell a lie and if she lies from now on, talaaq will happen and she lied again. I did not send the single talaaq notice to her as the address was incorrect on the deed, later while making a correction in the divorce deed we mentioned "triple talaaq" and again I signed this deed and sent the notice to her. All this happened within a month and she was at her parents house, we also had marital relations while she stayed with me in my house. I want to know how many talaaqs happened? If the total count is two (by considering triple talaaq as one) what do I do to take her back as my wife. Today is her 90th day of iddah.

Talaaq-e-baain

Q: My husband and I fight a lot where he threatens to send me back to my parents home. Recently while fighting he said he doesn't want me anymore and he's tired of me. So after much arguing, I asked him if we married, yes or no. His answer was no. Does this go as a talaaq?

Husband telling the wife "It's over"

Q: On the 9th of December my husband told me its over over whatsapp but after that we slept together and told me he didn't mean what he said and then again he told me "I'm done" and again over whatsapp that was on the 3rd of January and then my mum asked him are you and my daughter finished now, so he said yes. Does this mean we are divorced or not?

Husband telling the wife "tala"

Q: I wish to mention that +-10 years ago my wife and myself had an argument  and during that argument she claims that I had verbally mentioned talaq 3 times to her. I did not mention that but said, tala tala tila. Both of us engaged with her family regarding this matter. They accepted and said we can carry on living together. During that time we had a baby girl who is currently 7 years of age, and my eldest then who is now 15. We worked together in building our family, invested in property and together furnished a new home. We also travelled abroad and shared family vacations together. Only until recently due to our current issues the talaaq matter came up for no reason. Kindly revert with feedback if the marriage is valid or not?

Divorce in anger

Q: My question is about divorce. Me and my wife had a fight about 8 months ago and she was continuously asking for divorce at that very moment. We were both very angry. I told her ok I give you divorce and included both my and her name when I said it. Then she asked me to move out. I moved out of the house next day and have lived away from her ever since. During the last 8 months we have spoken so many times and we have been wanting to get back together. But we had fights also over the last 8 months. So my question is when I told her that I divorce you but moved out of the house next day and didn't spend 3 months with her under the same roof, is the divorce valid or not? Also when I said it we were both in anger and fighting.

Talaaq of a non-Muslim court

Q: I live in France. I demanded divorce in court because my husband does not want a divorce, he didn't came to legal summons. After one year and eight months, the judge has pronounced the divorce. I want to know is the divorce valid in Islam? Knowing that I live in France a non-Muslim country and non-Muslim countries judge, and my husband never came in front of me or the court? We did the marriage in Pakistan but with France permission because he comes from Pakistan and me from France but we lived in France. For how long is my time of idatt if divorce is valid?

Talaaq over watsapp

Q: I'm a young 27 year old divorced mother of 4 daughters. Last year December I got remarried to my second husband. He is 24 year old never married and of purity a virgin, he was with me for a week, a week after he left we fought and I landed in ICU for pseudo seizures due to depression and a week after that he divorced me while I was in ICU. I was admitted for shock, depression and post traumatic stress disorder. We had debates because his parents disapproved of him wanting to marry a gal with 4 kids, we debated his coming back and standing up for himself and his wife, which is me. I explained that one shouldn't be nasty to ones parents, but explain in a nice way, because there is no valid reason of disapproval, and nikaah had already taken place, now what I wanted to know is if how talaq was done is right or wrong? It was done over watsapp all were done for no valid reasons, like when I asked to leave me alone in hospital, I was just crying and crying, he gave a 2nd talaaq for that over watsapp. Is it a proper way to give talaaq or not?

Halaala

Q: My sister's husband gave her divorce by email. He wrote I give you divorce (talaq) 3 time about 8 years ago. Now they want to live together. They have two children. How is this possible according to shari'ah law?
