Buying a lottery ticket to help the poor

Q: There are many needy people in my area. I am helping them in whatever way I can with my hard-earned money. However, this is not enough as the needy people are too many. Can I buy a lottery ticket every month with the intention that if I get lucky enough to win, I will help them with the prize money? I won’t touch a single penny from that amount for my personal use.

Takaful

Q: EFU is offering takaful insurance. Kindly let us know is it Haraam or halaal as we are very confused about the takaful policy.

Interest

Subscribing to the Medical Protection Society (MPS)

Q: Certain doctors apply for jobs in private hospitals. The requirement for getting the job is that they need to have membership with the Medical Protection society (MPS). If they do not have such a membership, the hospital will not employ them. Monthly payment is made and in return the medical practitioners/doctors receive advice and direction in the medical field. The MPS also pays for legal claims against the practitioner/doctor. Is membership to the MPS permissible or this resembles insurance?

Medical insurance

Q: Is buying medical insurance allowed? i.e now I am healthy so I buy an insurance for e.g. 2 years. So if any medical emergency happens to me in the two years, then I can claim the insurance.
