‘Fade’ haircuts
Q: Please can you comment on the permissibility of ‘fade’ haircuts? We have seen people claim that having the hair cut two distinctly different lengths is fine, if it is not done with the intention of imitating kuffaar.

Q: My son received a gift of clothing which has a dinosaur picture printed all over it. It was a black shadow picture without features.
Since we don't even know if dinosaurs were real, can he wear it or is it moorath?
If it is moorath, can I sell it and keep the money to use or should I just give it away?

Q: I would like to know if ambergris is pure. I've heard that it is either the vomit or faeces of a sperm whale. In light of the Shafi and Hanafi madhab, would a perfume containing ambergris be ritually impure?

Q: Is it permissible to wear earrings that are not made of pure gold or silver?
Is applying kajal a sunnah practice?
Q: Is applying kajal using a kajal pencil (on Fridays) still regarded as part of the Sunnah or does one have to apply it in its powder form?

Q: Is it permissible for a baby girl to wear the turban style hats? The turban type of hats somewhat resembles the turbans which the seekhs wear.

Q: Is it permissible to wear shoes which has an outline of a human on the tongue of the shoe? I have a Jordan branded shoe and it has this picture, but it is small and could be partially covered by my pants.
Keeping 2 length haircuts
Q: I wanted to know if it is permissible to have a 2 length haircut that does not look like it is 2 lengths at all? The sides will be length 6 and the top length 8.

Q: What is the ruling with regards to the use of snail mucin in products and is it acceptable?
Disposing of shoes made of pig leather
Q: Sometime ago, we purchased leather shoes in a non-Muslim country. We did not ask in the store what type of leather is used, i.e. if it is pig leather or not.
I thus subsequently called and emailed the manufacturer multiple times, but for some reason they were not forthcoming on the type of leather used. They said they will get back to me but they never did.
What should be done with these shoes which might or might not be pig leather? Can they be given to a non-Muslim?
