Conditions & Fundamentals of Hajj and Umrah

Cutting the hair after umrah

Q: What is the hanafi fiqh stance on cutting hair of umrah?

If a person doesn't cut/shave required amount of hair for a first umrah and comes out of Ihram, thinking it is okay as per suggestions from few people. After few days he does second umrah and shaves of his head completely.

1. Did he need to offer dum? If yes, then one or more?

2. I have seen fatwas that cutting less than required amount and wearing Ihram again for next umrah is not permissible and needed to be compensated by a dum. Is it correct?

3. If in the second umrah, complete head is shaved. Is he out of ihram completely?

4. Are the first and second umrah's valid?

5. I also seen 2 fatwas, can you let me know correct one as per hanafi? (i)If one doesnt cut required amount in first umrah and shaves in second umrah, his shaving is counted for first umrah and second umrah is null (ii) If one doesnt cut required amount in first umrah and shaves in second umrah, he is out of first and second ihram's.

Shaving the hair after umrah and hajj

Q:

1. Please share your views on how one should spend his days in Makkah/Madina, which is the best ibaadat (tawaf or multiple umrahs or nafl prayers)?

2. Does a pilgrim get same reward of shaving hair if he does Umrah or Haj? Or as Haj is a bigger pilgrimage, shaving hair in Haj has more reward?

3. If a person does Haj-e-tamattu and has plans to perform more than one umrah before Haj, should he shave his head on all times?

4. What if a person has very few hairs as he has done many umrahs before Haj, and uses the razor on Haj, do we get same reward?

5. Also, is this saying true that for every single hair there are many blessings, the more hair you remove the more blessings?

Footwear of ihraam

Q: I am planning to go for Hajj in 2020 but not sure what kind of sandal I can wear when I am in ihraam. I found that some of them are saying I have to wear a slipper with the 2 belts (flip flop) without any stitches. Some say that I can wear any kind as long as the back and the front are open and some say that it cannot cover the middle part of the foot. Please  explain to me what kind of footwear I can wear, if possible a picture would be great.

Removal of hair for one performing hajj and qurbaani

Q: I know that if a person will be performing qurbaani, then he should avoid removing his hair and nails during the first ten days of Zul-Hijjah, until his qurbaani animal has been slaughtered.

However, when performing hajj, I am told that you should remove your hair and nails before the 7th Zul-Hijjah. My questions are as follows:

1. If you are performing qurbaani and hajj, when should you remove your hair and nails?

2. Do you need to perform the qurbaani yourself, or can it be performed at home (back in South Africa) by someone else (parents, siblings or your children)?
