Q: I would like to know is it possible for a girl to take her uncle or any other guy relative as her wali while her father is alive? People in my place where I live tell their daughters when the mufti ask you who is your wali then tell him your uncle, etc. So during nikah the girl takes someone else as her wali instead of her father. And that also when the father is alive living with the girl and happy with the marriege? Is this kind of nikah valid? In Islam is this permissible or is it just a cultural thing? I am really confused. I heard in proper Islamic nikah, the wali must be the girl's father unless he is dead.

Q: Can you please tell me the ruling of offering Salaatul istikhaara. I have heard some scholars telling that it should be offered after you have decided to do the task/work. But it is generally said that it should be offered before doing any work. Can you please guide me?

Q: When I'm with people and they talk too much about dunya, like what's on sale, or politics, what is latest etc, why do I feel that my heart is kinda in pain? Like I don't like hearing it and I wish I could just close off and leave. I can't tolerate it at all. And this happens with my relatives a lot. Shouldn't I have sabr? Q: I am a graphic designer by profession. In my line of work, I have to prepare advertisements for my clients. The adverts have the pictures of the products which are on promotion. Invariably, some products that are advertised have pictures e.g. Milo – the picture of the tin has a picture of a youngster kicking a football. My clients will want the picture of the Milo tin on the advertising pamphlet. In the circumstances, will it be permissible for me to put the photographs of the products on the pamphlets which are solely used for advertising purposes?

Q: I read that it is not good to talk too much. I realize I have this bad habit of excessive talking. What to do to stop myself as it is an old habit and sadly its roots are deep inside me?
