Nafaqah

Q: I have been married for seven years now. We had gotten married really young and from the beginning my husband was informed that I was my parents responsibility, and it has been seven years and he still refuses to Nafaka me. We fight about it all the time as I feel embarrassed to go around asking family members to assist me with financial needs. We have two kids and I perform all my duties as a mother and wife. I do not want to get divorced but I don't know what more to say to him as he refuses to nafaka me. Please advise me as to what I should do.

Nikaah with one witness

Q: My question is about nikaah. Can a boy and girl make nikaah on their own, just oral, with one witness or without witnesses and how? We did that, we read kalima and than he asked I son of, he told his father's name and he asked do you accept me as husband. I said qubool hai 3 times, and he said the same. We had one witness. Is this nikaah valid?

Wife having affairs with other men

Q: I have been married for fourteen years. I have three daughter. For the past seven years my wife had affairs with different men and I tried every time to speak to her to repent but the affairs just happen over and over year after year. As a result of this my life been constant worry with no peace of mind. It is because I loved her so much I just tried to save the marriage every time. I have my brother and my parents here to stop this marriage but in my heart I still love her. How do I occupy my mind through this talaaq process because it feels like I am scared but I don't want to go back to this life. As I know myself I will try to go back and in past that is how it happen over and over. I forgave her but her affairs never stop. I gave her one talaaq seven years back and I wanted to know if I can give her the rest two talaaqs not in anger in any way, but just so that I can't go back to that life.

Washing one's hand after cleaning the toilet

Q: I have a western style toilet and one day after urinating and defecating in it, I flushed it. However, because there was a lot of tissue in the bowl, the toilet became blocked and the bowl filled up with water after flushing. I put my arm in this water to try and unblock it. As far as I can remember, the water looked clean. One or two tissues with feces stuck on them remained in the water, however. But as I mentioned, I don't think the toilet water had its characteristics changed. Did my arm become najis when it was immersed in this water? Because I'm unsure that the characteristics of the water were changed after flushing, do I have to assume it was najis as the water was definitely filthy prior to flushing? Please put my heart at ease as I'm worried najasah has been spread.

Adopted child

Q: A child has been adopted by a South African Indian family. By what title may he address his adoptive father, mother and grandparents. Is it permissible to teach the child to say abba, ummi, dada, dadi, nana and nani? At what age is it appropriate to inform the child that he is adopted or should we adopt silence in this situation?
