Women's Issues

Women attending functions

Q: We are encouraged to accept invitations for meals and not to reject it as it is a Sunnah to accept such invitations.

What about women? Should they accept such invitations and go with with their mahrams? Or women should avoid leaving their houses for this reason?

Female doctor

Q: I’m a female doctor and I wanted to ask a couple questions.

I’ve finished my bachelors and completed my degree. I studied in a coed college where girls and boys were together and I didn’t wear a hijab in college. I wanted to know whether or not my degree is valid or not? Can I practice as a doctor or no? Are my earnings that I earn using the knowledge I received and my degree halal or no? Also, what about the money I earned from my practice as a doctor without wearing hijab? Is that money halal or no?

Irregular discharge

Q: I had a problem of irregular discharge. I used to experience yellow discharge almost every day. Depending on my previous habit, I used to count my tuhr days as 23 and my period days as 8. Last month, after my period ended on 29 January. I experienced discolored discharge on 30 and 31st January. Then I was totally clean for 15 days. After that I started bleeding on 15 February. I counted it as my period. And it ended on the 10th day on 25th February.

1. Was it correct for me to count my period from 15 February?

2. What will be my new tuhr habit and period habit?
