Pious people being protected from evil influences of shaitaan

Q: Mostly it is said that pious people (regular in prayer or other activities) are not mostly inflicted by spiritual diseases like magic/jinn possession/evil eye etc. rather sinful people are prone to these. But some ruqya experts say that pious people are more prone to these issues as Shaytan attacks more on them than sinful people and also Allah also tests them more than sinful people. Which explanation is more correct?

Reading aayatul kursi and blowing on family members who are living far away

Q: I have the habit of reciting aayat ul kursi (once) followed by the last three surahs 3 times each and then doing a dum on myself and my family members who are living in other places and countries by imagining their faces one by one and doing dum in the approximate direction.

I would generally do that amal at any time of the day with the intention of safety and well-being of myself and the loved ones. I would like to know:

1. Is such practice permissible and supported by some evidence?

2. Is there any added significance and benefit of continuing this practice compared to normal masnoon prayers for self and family members?

3. Or whether it's an innovation and should be avoided?
