Conditions & Fundamentals of Hajj and Umrah

Q: My mother requests a fatwa to show some women regarding the purdah in ihram, explaining:

1. The cloth should not touch the face

2. Purdah has to be observed from ghayr mahrams.

There is a misconception amongst some women who, throughout the year observe purda, اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّه, but due to a certain aalim's wife informing them that purdah is not necessary in ihraam, they discard it during umrah. She also would like to find out from Hazrat that:

3. Is wearing a normal purdah intentionally a major sin?

4. Would this also be the case if out of circumstances, since due to her eyesight, she cannot see with the cap purdah clearly?

5. What would be the penalty if the cap purdah unintentionally touches the face?

Q: What is the Shar’ee ruling in the case where a person passed the meeqaat without tying the ihraam?

Q: I have the health and wealth alhumdulillah to preform hajj. But I'm 16 and the Saudi government doesn't allow anyone aged 16 to come without a parent or mahram. And I don't have any family I can go with. And my parents don't allow me to go with a group. And my parents say they can't come with me they don't have the money. Also my parents say if you get severely ill due to the heat or flu or temperature who will take care of you, so my dad said to me wait one year and I'll earn money to go with you next year. What should I do, will I get sin in delaying my fard hajj? Should I wait one year?

Q: If wearing the cap purdah in ihraam is difficult, should a woman wear the normal purdah or not wear any? Some are of the opinion of wearing the normal purdah and removing before 12 hours, is this also a correct view?

Q: A woman is experiencing her haidh and needs to perform her Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah, but she will only become clean from her haidh after the date of her return flight. Since her flight is already booked, can she perform her Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah in haidh and give damm?

Q: I live in Saudi Arabia. I performed Umrah one week ago, when it comes to do qasr or halq, I got pain in on the side of my foot. I reached quickly  at the barber shop, they were closing shop due to prayer. I insisted but they refused to cut, they instead cut some hair from the upper side and another person with me also done it. After Prayer I wanted to cut my hair further, but due to much pain in the foot I could not go there. Then some one told me it is necessary to cut quarter  of the head but I could not do it, now  i'm back at home, and was thinking about it, either that qasr is enough for me or not, so my question is was this act enough to become halaal or not? If not, what do I have to do right now?

Q: What should a woman do when her wudhu breaks while performing tawaaf in the time of hajj? Since it is very difficult for her to go and renew the wudhu due to the crowd, etc. can she continue the tawaaf without making wudhu?

Q: Is applying ointment for pain or other cause also prohibited after one had entered ihram, because normally all ointment has a scent whereas all scented things are prohibited in the state of ihram?

Q: A female scholar in Masjid Nabwi told my wife that it is permissible to cover the face while doing Umrah and that there is no proof for covering the face while doing umrah. She followed her instruction and did umrah while her face was covered with niqaab. Was the female scholar correct? Does my wife have to pay any type of compensation?

Q: I have a question regarding the obligation of Hajj.

I am a convert to Islam.  I got married in 2013 and had a baby last year who is now 7 months old.  My husband and I would like further children insha Allah and as I am now 33 years old we would prefer to have another child as soon as possible. We are thinking about going for Hajj this year. My husband has already
performed Hajj in 2010 but I have not had the opportunity so far. I have a few concerns with regards our obligation to perform Hajj this year:

1. Our little baby will only just have turned one when we travel and as I am breastfeeding I would have to stop in order to perform Hajj.  I am worried about leaving him (he would stay with my husbands parents) but also realise that if we do not go this year, we may find it even more difficult in future years if Allah gives us more children.

2. If I do become pregnant prior to Hajj, is it permissible to postpone Hajj due to pregnancy and fear of causing harm to the unborn child.

3. I still have some outstanding student loan that I took out when I was at university before I accepted Islam. The repayments are linked to my income and taken out of my salary each month.  I believe that I still have a few thousand pounds outstanding and the loan does have a small amount of interest attached to it (linked to inflation). Hajj will be jointly funded by myself and my husband. I do not think that it will be possible to pay off the student loan and still have the funds available to go for Hajj. Would it be permissible to travel for Hajj with any of this loan outstanding?
