Q: We are building a Masjid and would like to know how many steps did the Mimbar of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) have.
I have read that it had 3 steps in total (including the seat). Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) sat on the third and stood on the second.
However, the famous Hadith of Ramadan states to the effect that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ascended three steps and said Aameen on each step, which would imply there were 3 steps excluding the seat, which is 4 steps in total.
Can you please explain and clarify the above to me.
Q: There is a masjid which is 3 stories i.e. ground floor+2 floors. However, except for Jumuah Salah only the ground floor remains occupied and the rest of the floors are vacant.
A group of community leaders have decided and infact what they have done is after taking permission from the Trustees have started a coaching class type thing wherein students from poor backgrounds are given computer and English and Science schooling in the first and second floors of the masjid at very nominal prices or for free. Basically a Muslim charitable trust is now using the upper floors of the masjid for teaching underprivileged kids computer and school tuition classes.
Additionally they are now planning to use one area in the masjid in above floors as a Homeopathy clinic for free treatment for ailments. The entrance is separate from behind the staircase, not the main gate of the masjid.
My question is, is it allowed to use the masjid for dunyavi purposes in a manner the above people are using it? They are not using the main ground floor of the masjid but the first and second floors which are empty except for Jumuah. Please guide us with this question.
Q: Our area masjid is closed due to renovation. We now perform Salah at two temporary venues. We have one azan that is given from the masjid that is closed, and no azan from the temporary musallahs.
Is this correct? What is the status of azan?
Q: Is making the masjid dirty and najis an act of kufr even if the person doing it has imaan in his heart, and loves Allah, the masjid and Islam?
Q: Is it permissible for the Imaam of the Masjid or any scholar to teach hifdh/madressa in the Masjid & charge fees?
If not, should this be moved outside the Masjid boundary or what would be the best possible solution?
