Q: Can a woman get married without the approval of her wali?

Q: I gave my wife R5000 cash mehar money. When I got married I did not have any debt. Now I have a R45 000 debt to pay. My wife keeps telling me to use the mehar money to pay part of the debt. Is this permissible in Islam?

Q: My friend did nikah with her boyfriend. Both are Muslims. But they did not go to any qazi and their parents were also absent. It took place in front of two Muslim men. The boy said "mein Fatima ko apne nikah Mein kabool karta hoon". She also said "kabool hain" just one time. Witnesses were adult Muslims. Are they husband and wife?
