Q: I am a diabetic and insulin dependant. I am fasting and my sugar levels have dropped below 4. Is it permissible for me to break my fast or do I continue fasting? What is the punishment for breaking my fast?

Q: This morning before sehri I began vomitting. After then reading my niyyat for fasting I vomitted again a mouthful of liquid water and the again (but not a mouthful). Is my fast broken?

Q: I am 30 years old this year and its been only 3 years or so that I have started fasting, but I have not still kept those that I missed for menstruations. I would like to know what should I do? Q: We live in a small northern town in Canada . We are fasting for 19 hours a day. This is causing undue hardship on us as the long days during summer are combined with a lack of sleep. Esha is at 12pm. We are concerned about dehydration and experience extreme exhaustion . Is there a fatwa which exempts such long hours of Fasting? Could we follow the fasting hours of Mecca?

Q: I am a lactating mother and feeding my child. My daughter is 1 year old. I heard that when mothers are feeding their children they are free from the Farz of roza (fast), is it true? If temporarily mothers are free then is there any Qaza of these rozas (fasts) after lactation or permanently lactating mothers are free?

Q: Here in Bokaap (Cape Town) in an area of about 2km there are 11 masaajid. So now will it suffice if someone sits for sunnat itikaaf in one of the 11 masajid, or is it necessary for someone to sit in each of the 11 masaajids?

Q: I would like to ask a question regarding Fasting (Sawm) and taking a sublingual tablets to quit drugs. The question is as follows:

May I fast if I take a sublingual tablet in the morning after suhur? The sublingual tablets name is Subutex 2mg it reduces cravings for opium
users. I would really like to fast. I would just like to know if is permissible for me for I only need to take this tablet for 7 consecutive days.

Q: If we miss our Salaah while fasting..does our fasting become invalid?

Q: Can we shave or remove hair while fasting?
