Talaaq

Q: I have been divorced thrice before consummation by my ex-husband on call. 

We were on a terrace once but not in complete seclusion, there was another girl there with us. Also another time it was when we were in an educational institute but it was open, people could easily pass through. The other time it was in a lab where the windows were glass and see through, no physical touch took place. 

Do I have to observe iddat? And have all three divorces taken place? Because some muftis are saying that three divorces given in a single sitting are counted as one. 

Q: I am a divorced woman with two daughters under the age of 9. 

I live with my parents and travel with them. Is it necessary to seek permission from my daughter's father everytime I take them out of town. I let him know out of courtesy and I only travel with a mahram. 

My children's father demands that I need to ask him before taking his daughters anywhere and when I do, he refuses the permission. He also wants to know exactly where I'm taking them, but I am afraid that he will show up there and harass ME. I know he's doing it just so he can control where I go and know where I am, but I am not his. I just don't want to be doing anything wrong Islamically whilst they're in my custody.

Q: If you talking to your wife and you say by her mother's house "you can stay here permanently and I'll come visit you here' is this a divorce? 

A: No divorce has taken place. 

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: I am married for 27 years. During July 2025 my spouse stated that if I want my talaaq I must take it and go. I was seated and immediately accepted the talaaq whilst we were in the same room. What really got my attention was his facial feature or realization of what he had done. He was standing, walked out of the room thereafter and said he will give the talaaq the proper way with an aalim. 

I have sought advice from the apa in my area. He denies having given the talaq and according to the advice she states he did not have any intention and therefore his word is accepted. What would be the ruling in such circumstance? 

My spouse has over the years given me talaaqs and also told me to get out of his house many times. This was the first occasion I accepted the talaq without leaving the room. We were previously advised by an aalim attempting to mediate the effects of using the word talaq. My spouse is therefore aware of the effects of his words.

Q: If a Hanafi man says to himself 'my wife is divorced' and then says out loud 'so be it', is his wife considered divorced?

Q: My husband performed a second nikaah without my knowledge. I found out about it immediately after that and I had a breakdown. I tried to understand and accept it but I just could not. Hence my husband was forced to divorce her before even consumating the marriage. Will I be answerable to Allah for this?

Q: I am a 24-year-old male with low sperm count (about 5 million), whereas the WHO normal limit is 15 million or more. My wife knows and supports me, but if my condition doesn’t improve, she might ask for a divorce. I want to know how permissible that is in Islam according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.
