Nikaah & Marriage Issues

Validity of nikaah if spouses don't perform salaah

Q: If a man and woman love each other but don't engage in haraam, both are Muslim, believe in Allah Ta'ala, the prophets, Quraan as Allah's book etc. but don't pray BUT know it is obligatory, will their nikaah be valid? Will their nikaah be void?

As I have heard that such couples nikaah is not valid if they don't pray before marriage, don't pray up until marriage and after marriage.

Making an effort to ensure that one's baaligh son wakes up for Fajr

Q: I have a 16 year old son that cannot wake for Fajr every day. My wife says to me that’s it’s our responsibility to make sure he gets up. Is it really our duty to ensure that he wakes up for Fajr everyday?

In the past, when I would wake him up, he would say that he is getting up, but most of the time, he would not wake up. Sehri is also a problem, though eventually, he does wake up for sehri. My view is that since he is old enough, if he misses salaah, he will be sinful, not his parents.

Custom of a person removing the bride from the stage on her wedding

Q: I am planning to marry in 3 weeks insha Allah.

The families are making the nikah very difficult. Myself and wife to be want it to be simple and Islamic also adhering to covid protocols.

They are also requesting that we have human to remove her from the stage as is the tradition in Cape Town.

Could you please tell me if this has any basis in Islam as we are both very shy and do not want to even be on a stage of any sort.

Wedding walk ins

Q: What is the ruling of wedding walk ins in Islam? If I can put it like that. When the reception or walima is held alot of people have their families walk down the isle in the halls, like first the brides's families and then the boys families and the guests all sit around viewing this. Mixed genders. is this permissible? I don't think this conforms to sunnah. Correct me if I am wrong!
