Nikaah & Marriage Issues

Girl and boy sitting in seclusion before nikaah

Q: When visiting a family to meet a potential girl for marriage, is it permissible for the girl and boy to sit in a separate room and speak about their plans, requirements etc, since it is embarrassing to speak in front of all the family members? There is a big window to the room so people in the adjacent room can see everything that is going on, but they can't hear.

Marrying without the consent of one's parents

Q: I am so worried after reading that a marriage without a guardian is not right. I am hanafi and always thought that it was fine for me because I was married before already and have kids. I married without telling my parents because they never would allow me to be a second wife. Someone else acted as my guardian at the nikaah. All I want to know now is am  I living in haraam?

Practising azl and the use of contraceptives

Q: Family planning is not permissible in Islam. I have come to realise that even though we use different methods of family planning, everything lies in Allah Ta'alas hands. If Allah Ta'ala wishes it to be, nothing can prevent it. My husband and I use condoms as a preventative. I would now like to refrain from this as I feel it is not correct and this also falls under family planning, however, my husband feels contrary. Is azal also regarded as family planning. If it is ok to use condoms, no problem. However, if its not permissible then what should I tell my husband?
