Q: Please explain the severity of writing Salams, Slmz, Salam Alaykum, Slms etc instead of writing Assalamu Alaykum. People think it's no big deal when you tell them. From a scholarly point of view please elaborate why these abbreviations and versions of conveying Salam are incorrect?

Q: My mother has a heart problem. She currently has a mechanical valve (st Jude's metal valve) and the problem is she gets admitted into hospital every 2 weeks due to high blood levels and clotting of blood all over her body. The doctor said that if she replaces the mechanical valve with a pigs tissue valve she won't have that problem again. Is it permissible to use it for medical purposes?

Q: What is the difference between fatwa and taqwa? I could not understand when a man told me this difference. I only know that if someone asks fatwa, it is just because of taqwa. So I could not understand the difference, I was told about. He gave an example:- It is fatwa to lengthen the beard one fist and lengthening the beard 2 inches more than one fist is taqwa. But I know that if I lengthen my beard up to one fist, it is because of Taqwa, otherwise I would have trimmed it. Please clarify if there is exactly any differnce as I am told about? Also explain the given example on beard to be correct or not. Jazakallah.
Q: I am taking echinaciae drops that have ethanol alcohol in it. I was told to put the drops in a little boiling water for the alcohol to evaporate, wait for a couple minutes and then drink. Is this allowed?
Q: If somebody uses "ma shaa Allaah" sarcastically in response to a sarcastic sentence, this is surely wrong, is it not? And is this kufr? Secondly, if someone laughs at the use of sarcasm here have they done kufr?
