Q: When praying salah, in sajdah Zaid places the upper part of the toes (the part where the nails are on the toes) on the ground, is the sajdah and Salah valid?

Q: If someone is leading a congregation, for example Taraweeh. Does the imam need to say بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم after he finishes a surah and decides to continue? For example, if the Imam just finished Surah Baqarah and wants to continue to Al-Imran, does he stop after finishing and continue or does the Imam recite Tasmiyah and then continue to Al-Imran? Please clarify me on this.

Q: I often do work in hospitals and come across Muslim patients. When speaking to them, I realise that they are not reading their salaah because sometimes they have urine catherters attached to them/nappys/weak in bed and unable to keep themselves paak. Some say they just don’t feel clean in hospital environment or are too weak to make wudhu, etc. How must I advise them?

Q: If my watan iqaama is Karachi (temporary place of residence), and I travel to London for 20 days. From London, I have to go to South Africa for 20 days. I depart from London and have a layover in Karachi. I am in Karachi for one day before leaving for South Africa. While I am in Karachi, even if it is for a couple of hours, will I pray qasr or full? As Karachi is my place of residence, but I’m just stopping in it for a couple of hours. Please explain.

Q: My father got brain hemorrhage so he was unconcious for 1 year. He could not pray and 1 Ramadhan also passed. Do we need to give fidyah (any compensation) for his prayera and Ramadhan fast or not?

Q: How can I do ishaa prayer if I am out of my city? After two rakats, should I do salam or should I wait until others complete their Prayer?

Q: A person was offering fajr and recited Surah Al A'laa in it. However, the person missed 4 ayat in the middle of the surah (from ayah 12 to ayah 16) and also did not do sajdah sahw. Should the prayer be repeated?

Q: During salaah, if someone swallows snot that comes from the nose into the mouth, does it break salaah?

Q: A person lives in Isipingo Beach and has been living in Isipingo for more than 20 years. He has a house and owns and runs two businesses in Ispingo. He still lives and works in Ispingo Beach for most of the year. This person bought a flat in Surat, in a street where his grandfather used to live, and passed away many many years ago. He goes to the flat once every few months and his period of stay in Surat varies from less than 14 days upto 20 days. When he is not in Surat, he gives out the flat on rent to people from South Africa who go to Surat for holiday or medical treatment. When he purchased the flat he made intention that due to it being in the area where his ancestors used to live, this will also be his house.

1. Will Surat become his وطن اصلي while Ispingo Beach remains his وطن اصلي? Thus he will have 2 وطن اصلي and he will never be a musafir when he goes to Surat.

2. Can he read full Salaah in Surat if he is only staying there for 10 days in that particular journey, because he has an intention to return to Surat for another week or two after three months and this is the home town of his ancestors (including grandparents).

Q: My mother was ill for the last 5 years and on 15th march 2018 she left us. Please tell us about the fidya for namaz and roza.
