Q: Is jihaad in Shaam fardul ayn at the moment or not? If it is not, please state why. I am a darul uloom student, so I would appreciate a detailed response.

Q: I have a question regarding my little brother who is going into a Islamic School in Chicago. He is only 7 years old. In his Islamic school they show kids Islamic/non-Islamic videos of animate objects on the screens, sometimes for educational reasons and sometimes for fun. I know watching these things are not permissible but in his case what should one do to stop this evil? How should this matter be approached?

Also his school has qualified teachers that are teaching there from the Deobandi school of thought. When we can't change their mindset then due to him being only 7 years old, is it permissible to participate in these kind of things. Also we are left with no choice of putting him into any other Islamic school because the situation is much worse and the government wants every child to be in school. If the answers can be mentioned in detail that would be highly appreciated.

Q: I recently had an argument with my friend. I read an article about Prince Muhammad bin Salman calling Trump the Muslims best friend. I told my friend that I think he's such a sellout. My friend responded by saying that it was improper for me to say so as Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said it that was not permissible to say anything bad about an Arab and it was impermissible to hate them.

Q: Is taking photos of babies permissible? Even if the intent is just to capture a moment and share it and then delete the photo?

Q: Is it permissible to click a selfie or a photo without a need?

Q: Is it permissible to draw pictures of humans if you leave out drawing any facial features (i.e. no mouth, nose, eyes)?

Q: I'm curious to know what does the Qur'an say about life on other planets (it can be water, plants, anything, etc.). In the news we heard about people exploring other planets and claim they found life there, or there was life there before.

Q: I want to know about the punishment given for committing zina. They say they should be given 100 lashes. My question is, what if the two that committed zina, never committed it with another person, and both are willing to get married, are they still given this punishment?

Q: While reading through your fatwas I came across one topic that has drawn my attentions. The fatwa was about "Moving into a new home". At the end part of the article there was a statement which read as follows:-"Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ood (Radhiyallahu Anhu) has reported that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: "A deserted house is one in which the Holy Qur'an is not recited."" I just wanted to know that, whether reading Namaz can be considered as recitation of Quran, as we read verses of the Holy Qur'an while performing salat itself?
