Salaah

Q: A patient in hospital is put on drips. He is unable to perform wudhu and cannot perform salaah facing the qiblah. How should he perform his salaah?

Q: From your Namaaz chart (http://muftionline.co.za/node/11013) I have seen that there are total 15 rakaats in Esha salah. But I have heard that there are total 17 rakaats in Esha salah i.e. 4 sunnah, 4 fard, 2 sunnah muakadah, 2 nafl, 3 witr and 2 nafl. Please clarify.

Q: It has been observed in madaaris, khanqaas, marakis and masaajid in general that students, mureeds, mamoors and general musallies at the time of iqaamat forego their place of the front saff by stepping backward into the second saff to give preference to the ustaad, shaikh, ameer or another Muslim in general, to take their place in the front saff. At times these individuals are in the saff well before hand. On the other hand the one given preference comes much later or even a short while before salaah. Can Mufti Sahib please explain if it is correct to do this? Can one forgo one's reward for another? Please shed any other information you have on this subject.

Q: If a person looks around in Salaah, what will be the position of his Salaah, will it be makrooh or will it break? Kindly explain the different situations i.e. if he only turned his face to the right or left during Salaah, or he turned his chest as well, or he only looked from the corner of his eye. Will there be any difference in the ruling of the above situations if there was a need for him to look?

Q: Can I read the same surah in both rakats of a farz salah? For example someone reads surah fatihah and surah ikhlaas in the first 2 rakats of zuhr farz.

Q: Please state when the makrooh time commences for the following Salaah:

1. Fajr.

2. Zuhr.

3. Maghrib.

4. Ishraaq.

5. Chaast. 

Q: What is the order of reciting surahs in salat? Can one recite Surah AL-Ikhlaas before Surah At-Tin? What is the correct order?

Q:

1. I just wanted to ask that if I, as the son lead my mom in prayer while she stands directly behind me, is that fine?

2. If I make my nephew stand with me or my son who has not yet reached the age of puberty yet in Salat, will it still count as if I did my Salat in Jamat? Will I get the rewards mentioned for praying Salat in Jamat. 

Q: Is the Qunoot Fard in Esha and Fajr Salaah?

Q: If one is late for zuhr salaah and joins the jamaat without perfoming the 4 sunnats before zuhr, when must the 4 sunnats be performed? Must it be perfomed after the 4 faradh?
