Salaah

Should the Imaam terminate the salaah in the case of an earthquake?

Q: If an Imam is leading an obligatory prayer in the Masjid and an earthquake strikes severely, under the Shariah, should he not suspend that salah and ensure for human safety and not show heroism? Taking the cue from the ruling on rains and harsh cold weather and the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)'s command to stay at home and pray, is earthquake not a bigger calamity?

Substitute for due-e-qunoot

Q: I am a person who due to illness cannot concentrate on anything for too long and cannot follow conversations. When I perform my Witr Salaah I cannot recall the Qunoot and sometimes I start then get muddled up and cannot continue further. Prior to my illness I used to recite the qunoot, however now I cannot. Will my salaah be accepted without the qunoot? Is there something which can substitute the Qunoot?

Making a mistake in tashahhud and repeating an aayah of Surah Faatihah in salaah

Q: I have few questions regarding my doubts and sajdah-e-sahw

1. If I performed sajdah e sahw already and then I recited attahiyaat again and committed mistake in the second part of the shahada i.e. (wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluh) but not corrected and go to durood shareef and while reciting durood remember that I committed mistake in shahada so I just recited the second part of the shahada again and then recited the durood again, is it permissible to recite the mistaken part only or do I have to recite the full shahada again once I reach durood shareef ?

2. If I repeat any ayat of Surah Faatiha, not the full surah or any part of attahiyaat and not the full attahiyaat, does sajda e sahw become wajib or not?

Swallowing drops of water from one's face during salaah

Q: Sometimes I go straight to prayer after I make wudu and some left over water from my face falls into my mouth. I heard that drinking during prayer invalidates prayer. Apparently I did not deliberately drink the water that falls from my face into my mouth and it is almost impossible for me to stop myself from swallowing it along with my saliva once it gets into my mouth. What should I do?

Performing salaah with the urge of relieving oneself

Q: I am taking a class that goes from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Hence it covers asr and maghrib prayers. The class is located far away from where I live. In order to maintain purity (wudhu) for both prayers (there is no cleaning facility at the class location) I used to hold myself not to urine during the entire 3 hour session. Hence for both prayers, especially for the maghrib prayer, I am exerting a huge effort not to let anything come out during the prayer (3 hours are very long). Is my prayer valid?

In addition, even though I tried my best, I cannot guarantee that my pants is 100% clean when I start praying as it is possible that some urine come out while I was in the classroom (that is outside the prayer, before it starts). Does this possible impurity affect my prayer? I almost did my best but I really don't know if my prayers are valid.
